Hope Valley Uniting Church seeks to express God’s heart for the community through engaging in practical service that benefits others. We run several ministries specifically to serve people in the community that also help build relationships with those beyond the church. Beyond the specific outreach ministries listed here most of our other ministry areas have activities that engage both church and non-church people.
Sausage & Salad and Soup Nights Free meals at the church in a friendly setting. For people of all ages, including families.
- Sausage & Salad Thursdays 6pm – 7.30pm in February and March.
- Soup Nights Thursdays 5.30pm – 7pm June and July.
Bread collection and distribution
We partner with two bakery shops in the Tea Tree Gully area supply unused bread at the close of shop. On Wednesday and Saturday nights volunteers from our church pick up the bread, bag it and offer it to people in nearby units, families in need and those passing through our church. Wednesday night bread is also used to take into Hindmarsh Square for the homeless and used for the Sausage & Salad nights and Soup Nights.
Feeding the Homeless
A group from HVUC hand out meals to the homeless and disadvantaged people in Hindmarsh Square on Thursday nights. We partner with a nearby city restaurant who provide the meals.
If you would like to know more about any of the above, please do not hesitate to contact the Welcome Centre.
